Introducing… Valentine’s Day Thaali’s.

This Valentine’s Day we’re launching a brand-new menu concept for our annual evening of romance on 14th February.

This year the chef’s have put together 3 authentic thaali options packed with Five Rivers favourites for a sharing experience to exceed all expectations.

Each thaali will contain 4 of our best dishes accompanied by Chefs Raita, Saffron Rice, Spiced Tandoori Poppadoms, Red Onion Khachumber and Coriander Naan (vegetarian and vegan options available).

History of The Thaali

The thaali is an ancient revolution of authentic Indian food. Each region of India has it’s own style of thaali yet the variations share the same concept –  sharing delicious dishes with your loved ones.Punjabi style thaali

The word thaali has more than one meaning; predominantly in Hindi, the word thaali refers to the plate, generally made of steel, on which food is served. It can easily contain up to 10 dishes (including rice and bread), so you better bring your full appetite if you’re indulging in one!

Depending on which part of India you visit decides the types of dishes that make up your thaali. In Northern India it is popular to have a mixture of veg and non-veg dishes. In our Valentine’s Day thaali you can enjoy a mixture of our best-selling dishes such as Karahi Paneer, Daal Bukhara, Lasani Chilli Chicken and Goan Fish Curry.

Most Indian thaali’s contain a palate cleanser which can help differentiate the many different flavours within the food itself.

We have opted for a lemon and elder flower palate cleanser to freshen up your tastebuds between courses.
